On July 17 (Fri.), 2020, Mr. Kajiyama Hiroshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for Internal Market, via video conference.

At the meeting, the two sides recognized that Japan and the EU, which share basic values, consider it important to fortify cooperation in a wide variety of fields, including digital technologies and enhancement of the resilience of supply chains, in order to overcome the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus disease.
