Announcement of Successful Applicants for FY2019 Project for Promotion and Support of Creating Digital Transformation (DX) and Other New Businesses in Asia (Project for Japan-India Economic and Industrial Cooperation) under METI Subsidy Program

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hereby announces that the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) opened a call for applicants for its Project for Japan-India Economic and Industrial Cooperation,* as part of the Project for Promotion and Support of Creating Digital Transformation (DX) and Other New Businesses in Asia, which was established under the FY2019 Supplementary Budget, and that JETRO selected 10 projects as successful applicants out of the applications which it received by June 30, 2020.
1. Outline of the project
Under the Project for Japan-India Economic and Industrial Cooperation, METI will allocate subsidies for expenses that JETRO incurs for its project efforts for supporting Japanese companies in deploying such activities as collecting information on overseas companies and other organizations, building networking with them and increasing opportunities for trial efforts. Through these efforts, METI aims to encourage Japanese companies to collaborate with companies and organizations in emerging countries, to contribute to Japanese companies’ business development in such countries and their creation of new businesses, while taking advantage of digital technologies.
2. Successful applicants
From April 23 (Thur.) to June 30 (Tue.), 2020, JETRO opened a call for applicants for its Project for Japan-India Economic and Industrial Cooperation, as part of the Project for Promotion and Support of Creating Digital Transformation (DX) and Other New Businesses in Asia under the METI Subsidy Program, and it selected 10 projects as successful applicants as a result of examination of 22 applications which it received.
*Note: This project will be implemented based on the subsidies allocated by METI to JETRO, which was established under the FY2019 Supplementary Budget. JETRO has been serving as the secretariat of the project for the calls, in selecting applicants and supporting successful applicants in conducting their projects.
