169 Companies Newly Announced the “Declaration of Partnership Building”
August 7, 2020
On May 18, 2020, the Council on Promoting Partnership Building for Cultivating the Future held the first meeting and agreed to introduce a new framework called a “Declaration of Partnership Building” and encouraged agreeing companies to prepare a declaration and submit it to the portal site by August, when many companies will negotiate their trade conditions for the latter half of the year. As a result, 169 companies newly announced their declaration. Companies that have prepared and announced their declaration will be treated favorably under a point-addition system for some subsidies granted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

2. Announcement of the Declaration of Partnership Building
The Council encouraged agreeing companies to prepare a declaration and submit it to the portal site by August, when many companies will negotiate their trade conditions for the latter half of the year. As a result, 169 companies newly announced their declaration and a total of 235 companies are listed on the relevant portal site as of August 6, 2020.
We will further broaden this initiative, while seeking cooperation from respective industrial sectors, so as to increase the number of companies that announce their declaration.
3. Point-addition system for subsidies
Companies that have declared their intention to contribute to new collaboration for mutually-beneficial relationships among the entirety of the supply chain and support for IT implementation, etc. have become eligible for point additions for the Subsidy Program for Monodzukuri, Commerce and Services (for business model building), which aims to support companies’ efforts to build innovative business models, such as extended digitalization and introduction of robots.
