Call Opens for General People as Participants in the 3rd Well Aging Society Summit Asia-Japan

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will hold the 3rd Well Aging Society Summit Asia-Japan in Japan, a country with the world’s most rapidly aging society. This is an international event bringing together experts with outstanding knowledge at home and abroad to hold discussions on future directions of aging societies full of vitality.

The 3rd Well Aging Society Summit Asia-Japan will hold discussions on a variety of trends and challenges which are emerging worldwide in the “with- or after-coronavirus” era as well as solutions to the challenges, and will aim to accelerate innovations which contribute to extension of the healthy lifespan of people worldwide.

3. Call for general people as participants in the event

If you wish to attend the event, visit the following website and complete prior registration after confirming the details on the website.

There are two styles for participating in the event: physical attendance and online attendance. In light of impacts which may be caused by the novel coronavirus disease, the number of physical participants will be limited. Accordingly, such participants will be selected by lottery if the number of applicants exceeds the maximum capacity of the venue. In addition, please note that, because of the limitation of the system, online participants as well will be selected by lottery if the number of applicants exceeds the maximum capacity of the system.

Note: As mentioned above, the number of physical participants is limited. Accordingly, if you cannot visit the venue on the date of the event, please give notice by email in advance to the secretariat using its email address shown on the website below. Thank you for your cooperation.

Information for people wishing to participate in the event online

METI will open a call for online participants in the events held on two days, respectively: October 12 (Mon.) and 13 (Tue.), 2020. Both of the events will be broadcast online. METI will release necessary information to apply for the call, e.g., the URL, at a later date. METI will open the call for the period below.
Period of the call: From September 15 (Tue.) to 17:30, October 9 (Fri.), 2020

Information for people wishing to physically participate in the event

METI will open a call for physical participants only for the event on October 12 (Mon.), 2020. METI will open the call for the period below.
Period of the call: From September 15 (Tue.) to 17:30, September 25 (Fri.), 2020

4. Registration of the press

METI will release information on the registration of the press at a later date.
