Report on Trends in Regional Economies and Industries in November 2020 Compiled

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) compiled a report on economic indices concerning production, private consumption, business investment and other elements for each region in order to ascertain trends in regional economies across Japan.
Key points
- Indices of industrial production (seasonally adjusted; month-on-month basis) showed an increase in five regions, e.g., Kinki, Kanto and Kyushu (composition ratio of value added: 64.2%), and a decrease in four regions (the ratio: 35.6%).
- Sales in the month on a year-on-year basis in six types of business in the retail trade industry showed an increase in seven regions, e.g., Kanto, Kyushu/Okinawa and Chubu (composition ratio of sales: 83.7%), and a decrease in one region (the ratio: 16.3%).
