On April 5, Mr. Kajiyama Hiroshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, met with Y.B. Dato' Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry, to confirm that the two countries will further deepen their economic relationship. Minister Kajiyama also attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
On April 5, 2021, Minister Kajiyama met with Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Azmin Ali. At the meeting, they exchanged views on challenges regarding encouraging Japanese companies to invest in Malaysia, and confirmed that their two countries would further deepen their economic relationship. This will include investment in high-value-added industries, which Malaysia considers to be important.
Together with Minister Azmin Ali, Minister Kajiyama also attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between JETRO and MATRADE. With the signing of this MOC, the two organizations will work toward promoting trade and expanding cooperation between companies from the two countries in the digital transformation field, etc.
