On April 7 (Wed.), Mr. Kajiyama Hiroshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, participated via video conference in a session of the Global Technology Governance Summit (GTGS) organized by the World Economic Forum.
1. Outline of the meeting
The World Economic Forum inaugurated the GTGS focusing on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Its first meeting, hosted by Japan, was held via video conference on April 6 (Tue.) and 7 (Wed.). At the GTGS, participants discussed appropriate approaches to technologies and policies toward implementing new technologies in society through public-private partnerships.
Participating in the "Driving Circular Growth with Data" session that started at 19:00 on April 7 (Wed.), Minister Kajiyama spoke about efforts regarding green growth and circular economy toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Minister Kajiyama has also contributed an article to the World Economic Forum website to coincide with the GTGS. The title is "Digital technology can help the world prosper. Here’s how."
