Study Group toward Achieving Human Capital Management to Have Its First Meeting
June 30, 2021
From the perspective of improving corporate value in the medium to long term, it will be necessary to foster momentum in society as a whole and implement measures that will enable individual companies to take concrete steps, with a view toward having organizations practice "human capital management", which more tightly links management and people strategies together.
The revised Corporate Governance Code also includes human capital and diversity, and there is growing demand for information regarding human capital to be disclosed and spread internationally as well.
In light of this situation related to human capital in Japan and overseas, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has inaugurated a study group to discuss the directions for future responses and specific measures each of the stakeholders should take regarding the major challenges toward achieving human capital management, based on the Report of the Study Group on Improvement of Sustainable Corporate Value and Human Capital , released last year.
