Accusation against Tonegawa-Seiko Co., Ltd. on Charges of Violating the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) filed an accusation against Tonegawa-Seiko Co., Ltd. (Corporate No. 9010802016746) with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on July 6, 2021, on suspicion of violating the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act (FEFTA) and attempting to export without permission.
1. The accused
Tonegawa-Seiko Co., Ltd. (Address: 4-10-5, Shimomaruko, Ota-ku, Tokyo)

2. Reason for the accusation and penalty
(1) Reason
The accused attempted to export 150 servomotors (model number: SSPS-105) without the permission of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, despite notification that it needed permission to do so under Article 48, Paragraph 1 of the FEFTA, because the cargo falls under Appended Table 1, Item 16 of the Export Trade Control Order.
