The 4th Japan-U.K. Industrial Policy Dialogue Held

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the United Kingdom, held the Fourth Japan-U.K. Industrial Policy Dialogue online on July 12, 2021, with the aim of deepening and expanding Japan-U.K. industrial cooperation.
Outline of the dialogue
The dialogue was held with Mr. Hirose Naoshi, Vice-Minister for International Affairs of METI, Ms. Sarah Munby, Permanent Secretary for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and several other officials.
In addition to discussions on both countries’ economic situations, industrial policies and cooperation in global frameworks, they reported on the progress of the working groups on aviation, space, advanced manufacturing, energy and climate change, and exchanges of views on cooperation in the fields of agile innovation and startups.
Furthermore, Mr. Hirose and Ms. Munby signed a Memorandum of Economic and Industrial Cooperation (MoC) in the field of startups.
