State Minister Ejima Holds Video Conference with H.E. Dr. Muhammad Abd Alatef Al-Faris, Kuwait's Minister of Oil and Minister of Higher Education

On September 16 (Thu.), Mr. Ejima Kiyoshi, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a video conference with H.E. Dr. Muhammad Abd Alatef Al-Faris, Kuwait's Minister of Oil and Minister of Higher Education.
In the meeting, the two ministers welcomed the significant progress in bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including last December's agreement to start a joint oil stockpiling project between the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). This year is the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Japan, which has also boosted cooperation.
In addition, State Minister Ejima explained that Japan intends to help speed up diverse and realistic energy transitions in Asia, including the Middle East, and Minister Al-Faris endorsed this.
The two countries also agreed to continue to work together closely to form concrete cooperation projects between them in the area of decarbonization, making use of symposiums planned for the future and a variety of other opportunities.
