SCRI & J-Bridge Tie-Up Event Held

- Digital-age supply chains through collaboration with overseas companies -

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) held an online tie-up event between the Supply Chain Resilience Initiative (SCRI) and J-Bridge. (The former is an initiative launched at the Australia-India-Japan Economic Ministers' Meeting in April 2021, and the latter is a business platform for promoting open innovation between Japanese companies and overseas start-ups and other companies.)

Four government officials from Japan, Australia, and India, 11 private companies (including BCG, which gave a keynote speech), and three business support organizations from Japan, Australia, and India (Austrade, Invest India, and JETRO) took the stage as panelists.

5. Overview

Mr. Matsuo Takehiko, Director-General of the Trade Policy Bureau, METI, and Mr. Amit Yadav, Director General of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, gave opening addresses, and Mr. Masanobu Iwabuchi, Managing Director & Partner of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), delivered a keynote speech. This was followed by:

  1. Presentations by companies with supply chain visualization/optimization solutions

  2. A panel discussion by companies on the theme "The status quo and future directions regarding supply chain resilience at the global level"

  3. Explanations of support measures by business support organizations in each country, and a closing address by Ms. Helen Stylianou, Ambassador for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation & First Assistant Secretary, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
