FY2021 Green Logistics Partnership Conference to be Held

Energy and Environment Policy

On December 15 (Wed.), 2021, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the Japan Association for Logistics and Transport (JALoT), and the Japan Institute of Logistics Systems (JILS) will jointly hold the FY2021 Green Logistics Partnership Conference at the Nikkei Conference Room. At the conference, organizers will commend businesses that have made remarkable contributions to establishing sustainable logistics systems through reduction of environmental burdens, improvement of productivity, and other efforts in the logistics industry. In addition, winners will present their award-winning practices.

This fiscal year, METI will recognize one winner of the METI Minister's Award, one winner of the Award of the METI Director-General for Commerce and Service Industry Policy, and two winners of the Green Logistics Partnership Conference Special Award.

1. Outline of the Green Logistics Partnership Conference

Established in April 2005, the Green Logistics Partnership Conference aims to spread and promote cooperative efforts made by consigners and logistics business operators towards establishing sustainable logistics systems (e.g., reducing environmental burdens and improving productivity in the logistics industry). The conference has been recognizing excellent initiatives that have made particularly remarkable contributions since FY2006.

2. Outline of the conference

Date: December 15 (Wed.), 2021, from 13:45 to 16:35
         (The reception counter for the press will open at 13:15.)

Venue: Nikkei Conference Room
            (6th floor of Nikkei Building; 1-3-7 Otemachi, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo)

Note: This year, attendance at the venue will be limited to members of the press to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
