The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement will Enter into Force in Malaysia

On January 17 (Mon.), Malaysia deposited its Instrument of Ratification of the RCEP Agreement to the Secretary-General of ASEAN (the Depositary). With this deposit, the RCEP Agreement will enter into force in Malaysia 60 days later, on March 18, 2022 (Fri.).
1. In addition to 11 countries (including Japan), the RCEP Agreement also enters into force in Malaysia
On January 17 (Mon.), Malaysia deposited its Instrument of Ratification of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement to the Secretary-General of ASEAN (the Depositary).
With this deposit by Malaysia, the agreement will enter into force there on March 18, 2022 (Fri.). It has already entered into force in Japan, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, China, and New Zealand. In addition, it will enter into force in South Korea on February 1, 2022 (Tue.).
