IAEA delegation visits Japan for a review of the safety of ALPS treated water at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

From 14th to 18th February, the IAEA delegation will visit Japan for a review of the safety of ALPS treated water at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

From 14th to 18th February, the IAEA delegation *1 will visit Japan. During the visit, they will visit Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS) and conduct a review of the safety of ALPS treated water. Although the mission which was originally planned in last December was postponed once, it was decided that the review will be conducted in compliance with the strict quarantine measures*2.

*1 Some members from the IAEA- will arrive in Japan this week for a preparatory meeting.
*2 Measures include the prohibition of the use of public transportation, restriction of transportation to round trips only between the accommodation facilities, daily PCR tests and so on.
