Minister Hagiuda Participates in the Extraordinary IEA Ministerial Meeting

On March 1 (Tue.), Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, participated in the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Agency (IEA).

On March 1, the IEA held an Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting to discuss the impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on global energy markets and how IEA Member Countries can continue to play a stabilizing role.

At the meeting, the IEA Member Countries agreed to a coordinated release of a total of 60 million barrels of oil in order to stabilize the energy market considering the impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on oil supply.
