An India-Japan Digital Partnership Webinar was held online with India, an IT powerhouse that holds the key to compensating for the delay in digital transformation and preparing for post-COVID-19 international competition.

Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI); Mr. Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Communications, Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India (MOC); five other government officials from Japan and India; nine private companies; etc.

5. Overview

After special talks by METI Minister Hagiuda and MOC Minister Vaishnaw and a keynote speech by Mr. Matsuo Takehiko, Director-General of METI's Trade Policy Bureau, the following occurred:

  1. A panel discussion with the theme "How do we acquire Indian tech professional talent?"
  2. A talk by Ms. Kishimoto Orie, Chief Inspector, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
  3. A talk by Mr. Sanjay Anandaram, Global Ambassador for iSpirt, on the rise of the Indian digital industry
  4. A panel discussion with the theme "Indian tech professionals and J-Startup"
  5. Business pitch presentations by Indian startup companies
  6. A talk on J-Bridge by Ms. Kawada Mio, Director General, Invest Japan Department, JETRO
    Closing addresses by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Verma, Ambassador of India to Japan, and Mr. Sasaki Nobuhiko, Chairman, JETRO.
