METI Holds Award Ceremony for Winner of Space Development and Utilization Grand Prize

On March 18 (Fri.), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry conferred a certificate of commendation and a commemorative item to the winner of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Award for the Fifth Space Development and Utilization Grand Prize.

1. Outline of Space Development and Utilization Grand Prize

This prize is intended to contribute to further progress in space development and utilization activities, and to foster awareness and understanding of space development and utilization among the Japanese people by commending projects that have made significant contributions to the promotion of those activities through pioneering efforts. This prize was launched in the fiscal year of 2013, and has been awarded every other year. The current fiscal year marks the fifth award since its launch.

2. Winner of the METI Award (1 project)

METI recognizes the following project as having made significant contributions from the viewpoint of revitalizing the space industry and has chosen it as the winner of the METI Award.
