IAEA official visited the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station and witnessed sampling for analysis of the ALPS Treated Water

On March 24th, the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) official visiting Japan for the regulatory review on the handling of ALPS Treated Water, visited the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS) and witnessed the taking of samples of ALPS treated water for future analysis.
From 21st to 25th March, IAEA officials and international experts are visiting Japan for the regulatory review* on the handling of ALPS treated water.
On this occasion, on March 24th, the IAEA official visited the FDNPS and witnessed in person TEPCO taking samples of the ALPS treated water from the measurement and verification facility. (This is the second time for IAEA has witnessed sampling, following the visit to Japan in February this year**). In order to verify the analysis conducted by TEPCO, the IAEA laboratories will conduct the analysis of radioactive materials in the future.
