Award Ceremony Held for the Nippon Startup Awards 2022

Astroscale Holdings Inc. wins the Prime Minister's Award

On June 2, 2022, a commendation ceremony for the Nippon Startup Awards was held at the Prime Minister's Office. This award program aims to honor startups and to positively impact their development of new businesses as role models for young people. Astroscale Holdings Inc., a startup committed to becoming the first in the world to solve the extremely difficult problem of removing space debris, was recognized as a winner of the Prime Minister's Award.

1. At the award ceremony

At the commendation ceremony, Prime Minister Kishida stated that the government will continue to make efforts to provide thorough support for startups. He then listened to an explanation of each winner's product or service, including Astroscale's 1/2 model of the ELSA-d satellite, and offered his praise and encouragement.

3. Outline of the awards program

This awards program aims to honor outstanding startups for their creation of new businesses with positive impacts on society, as role models for young people and entrepreneurs who will play key roles in the next generation. Launched in 2015 as the Nippon Venture Awards, this awards program was renamed as of this year.
