On July 25 (Mon.), Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry received a courtesy call from the Honorable Rahm Emanuel, Ambassador of the United States to Japan.

On July 25 (Mon.), Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry received a courtesy call from the Honorable Rahm Emanuel, Ambassador of the United States to Japan.
At the start of the meeting, Minister Hagiuda expressed his gratitude to the United States for condolences received concerning the death of former prime minister Shinzo Abe.
The two agreed on the importance of deepening and expanding comprehensive Japan-U.S. economic cooperation ahead of the ministerial meeting of the Japan-U.S. Economic Policy Consultative Committee meeting (Economic 2+2) to be held this month. In addition, Minister Hagiuda requested that the United States—one of the world's leading producers of LNG—increase its LNG production and provide a stable supply.
