On August 29 (Mon.), Mr. Nishimura Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry received a courtesy call from the Honorable Rahm Emanuel, Ambassador of the United States to Japan.

On August 29 (Mon.), Mr. Nishimura Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, received a courtesy call from the Honorable Rahm Emanuel, Ambassador of the United States to Japan.

The two welcomed the progress of Japan-U.S. economic cooperation through the bodies such as the Economic Policy Consultative Committee (EPCC, Economic 2+2). They also discussed Japan-U.S. cooperation in various areas including the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), energy, semiconductors, and so forth. In addition, they confirmed the two countries' cooperation as the chairs of the G7 and APEC respectively next year.
