The 20th Vice-Minister-Level Regular Consultation Held between METI and MOFCOM

On September 5 (Mon.), 2022, Mr. Hirai Hirohide, Vice-Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and Mr. Li Fei, Assistant Minister, Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), China, held a regular consultation at the vice-minister level via teleconference. This was the 20th such consultation, first inaugurated in 1990.
1. Japan-China cooperation and the development of business environments
The two sides held discussions on building business environments including the topics of government procurement systems and import restrictions on Japanese food products. They also agreed to continue communicating through this regular consultation channel and other meetings.
2. Japan-China cooperation at the global and regional level
The two sides held discussions on topics including WTO reform and the steady implementation of the RCEP Agreement.
