Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nagamine Attends the G20 Joint Environment and Climate Ministerial Meeting

At the meeting, attendees discussed the priority issues raised by the chair. The chair later released a Chair's Summary outlining the results.
1. G20 Joint Environment and Climate Ministerial Meeting

(Indonesia, India, Australia, the European Union, France, Germany, Canada, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Russia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, and South Africa)
Countries invited:
Cambodia, Egypt, the Netherlands, Spain, Singapore, the UAE, and Fiji
(2) Outline of the discussions
The chair country's priority issues at this meeting were as follows: (1) supporting more sustainable recovery, (2) enhancing land and sea-based actions to support environment protection and climate objectives, and (3) enhancing resource mobilization to support environment protection and climate objectives.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nagamine stated that the world needs to transform its social system to focus on clean energy, and achieve both emission reductions and economic growth, in other words Green Transformation, or "GX," and that we are now working on a roadmap for its realization
The chair country released a Chair's Summary based on what was discussed at the meeting.

2. Meetings with participating ministers
During the margin of the Ministerial Meeting, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nagamine met and exchanged views with other participating ministers from India, Indonesia, Canada, and Germany, as shown below (Meetings with India and Indonesia were held with Minister Nishimura).
In the meeting with Mr. Bhupender Yadav, India's Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the ministers shared their views toward achieving GX.
In the meeting with Ms. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Indonesia's Minister of Environment and Forestry, the ministers exchanged views on adaptation business.
In the meeting with Ms. Catherine Stewart, Canada's Climate Change Ambassador, and Mr. Terry Duguid, Canada's Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the leaders shared their views toward achieving GX and discussed recent trends in climate change policy.
In his meeting with Mr. Stefan Wenzel, Germany's Parliamentary State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the leaders shared their views toward achieving GX and discussed their countries' work on climate change policies.
