State Minister Nakatani Holds Meetings with Ministers and Officials from Various Countries

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is holding TOKYO GX WEEK from September 26 to October 7. On the 26th, the first day of the two-week event, Mr. Nakatani Shinichi, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, met with ministers from various countries and heads of international organizations to exchange views on energy cooperation and other issues.

1. Meeting with H.E. Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, Federal Minister for Power Division, Pakistan

State Minister Nakatani welcomed Minister Khan's attendance at the Asia Green Growth Partnership Ministerial Meeting (
AGGPM) held on September 26, and the two ministers discussed bilateral cooperation in the energy field 
They shared a common recognition that they would facilitate a various and realistic energy transition in line with each countries’ energy situation while ensuring sufficient energy

2. Meeting with H.E. The Honorable Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Brunei Darussalam

State Minister Nakatani welcomed the Brunei minister's attendance at the Hydrogen Energy Ministerial Meeting and Asia Green Growth Partnership Ministerial Meeting (AGGPM), and also called for his cooperation toward achieving the Asia Zero Emissions Community vision. The two ministers discussed bilateral energy cooperation, including a stable supply of LNG.
They agreed to start discussing the formulation of a roadmap toward carbon neutrality based on the Asia Energy Transition Initiative (AETI).

3. Meeting with Mr. Francesco La Camera, Director-General, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)

State Minister Nakatani welcomed Director-General La Camera's attendance at the Hydrogen Energy Ministerial Meeting (HEM) held on September 26. He also stated that Japan and IRENA have been building various cooperative relations up until now, and that he expects IRENA to continue its efforts in the fields of offshore wind power and hydrogen.
