Launching of the Joint Study Group on the possibility of a Japan-Israel Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Israel. Economic relations in particular have developed significantly in recent years, with the number of Japanese companies that have expanded into Israel increasing threefold in the past ten years, among other developments.
In light of this development, the Government of Japan and the Government of the State of Israel jointly decided to launch the Joint Study Group on the possibility of a Japan-Israel Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). Japan will coordinate with Israel to hold the first meeting of the Joint Study Group.

The Joint Study Group is formed for the purpose of facilitating discussions between industry, government, and academia of partner countries on topics and matters of interest regarding the possibility of an Economic Partnership Agreement.
