Video Conference Briefing Session regarding the handling of Advanced Liquid Processing System (ALPS) treated water was held on the 25th of November 2022.
On Friday, November 25, the Government of Japan organized a video conference briefing session regarding the handling of Advanced Liquid Processing System (ALPS) treated water at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS) for diplomatic missions and others in Tokyo.
In the session, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, and TEPCO explained the contents of the application submitted by TEPCO to Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) on November 14 for approval to amend the implementation plan for Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (including the revised report of Radiological Environmental Impact Assessment), and an overview of the IAEA’s Second review of the safety aspects of the handling of ALPS treated water conducted from November 14 to 18, followed by a Q&A session with those attendance.
The Government of Japan continues to explain the situation of the FDNPS to the international community in a transparent manner in close collaboration among relevant Ministries and Agencies.
