Minister Nishimura Delivers a Speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in the U.S.

January 9, 2023

On Thursday, January 5, Mr. Nishimura, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, delivered a policy speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in the United States.

Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura delivered a policy speech at CSIS on the theme of "Building a New Order after Overcoming an Illusion.” In an era when challenges to the international order by authoritarianism, such as the aggression against Ukraine, have become a major issue, he called for the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" and pointed out the importance of working on the "three areas to build up," namely building up economic security, building up cooperation among like-minded countries, and building up deterrence capabilities.
