State Minister Nakatani Holds Meeting with Hon. Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources Canada

On Wednesday, January 18, State Minister Nakatani held a meeting with Hon. Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources Canada, and the two ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector. They discussed the need for energy security, promotion of cooperation in the fields of  clean energy such as hydrogen/ammonia and renewables, the need for investment in LNG and upstream of natural gas fields, strengthening upstream and midstream investment for a stable supply of critical minerals, and building a robust nuclear supply chain. Furthermore, they confirmed their commitment to cooperate in resolving energy issues, including holding the G7 Ministers’ Meeting on Climate, Energy and Environment in Sapporo to be held in this April.
