Video Conference Briefing Session on the current status of Advanced Liquid Processing System (ALPS) treated water was held on the 30th of January 2023.

On Monday, January 30, the Government of Japan organized a video conference briefing session on the current status of Advanced Liquid Processing System (ALPS) treated water at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS) for all diplomatic missions in Tokyo.
 
In the session, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, and Nuclear Regulation Authority explained the Inter-Ministerial Council Concerning the Continuous Implementation of the Basic Policy on Handling of ALPS Treated Water held on January 13 (including basic information about ALPS treated water) and the IAEA’s Second Regulatory Review on the Handling of ALPS Treated Water, which was conducted from January 16 to 20, followed by a Q&A session with those in attendance.
 
The Government of Japan continues to explain the situation of the FDNPS to the international community in a transparent manner in close collaboration among all the related Ministries and Agencies.
