Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nagamine Holds Meeting with Mr. McMonigle, Secretary General of the International Energy Forum, IEF

On Wednesday, March 1, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nagamine held a meeting with IEF Secretary General McMonigle.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the importance of stabilizing the international crude oil market through upstream investment and dialogue between oil-producing and oil-consuming countries in light of the current situation in Ukraine and soaring energy prices, as well as the importance of balancing energy transitions with ensuring energy security. Japan plans to discuss measures to stabilize the international energy market at the G7 meeting, which it will chair this year, and noted that it will continue to contribute to the IEF's activities.
