The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has been promoting the discovery and development of human resources with outstanding IT abilities in order to create new added value for the economy and society through technological innovation in the IT field. As part of this, METI has been involved in the MITOU Program (Exploratory IT Human Resources Project) through the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA). In this program, persons with outstanding capabilities among those who have completed the program are certified as Super Creators. This year, 25 individuals have been certified as Super Creators.
1. Outline
METI launched the MITOU Program (Exploratory IT Human Resources Project) in FY2000 as a program to discover and develop outstanding IT talent. This program has produced over 1,800 Creators to date. Of these Creators, some have been certified as Super Creators, in recognition of their particularly outstanding ability.
Out of the 37 Creators chosen in FY2022, 25 were certified as Super Creators, which brings the total of Super Creators to 408.
