Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ishii Receives a Courtesy Call from a U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves

On September 25 (Mon.), Mr. Ishii Taku, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, received a courtesy call from U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves. They exchanged views on various areas and confirmed the importance of U.S.-Japan cooperation.
On Monday, September 25, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Taku Ishii received a courtesy call from U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves, who is visiting Japan on the Cybersecurity Business Development Mission. Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ishii and Deputy Secretary Graves welcomed the expansion of cooperation between METI and the Department of Commerce into the biotechnology, quantum and cybersecurity areas. The two principals agreed to further accelerate cooperation in each area to deepen the economic relationship as well as strengthen economic security between the two countries through various frameworks including Economic 2+2 and JUCIP. Regarding the discharge of ALPS treated water, the two principals also agreed that the two countries will continue to work together to increase consumption of Japanese food products.
