Minister Saito Holds Meeting with OECD Secretary-General Cormann
Cooperation confirmed toward the 2024 OECD Ministerial Council Meeting chaired by Japan

On Wednesday, January 10, Mr. Saito Ken, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry held a meeting with Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to exchange views on cooperation toward this year’s OECD Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM), to be chaired by Japan.
On Wednesday, January 10, Minister Saito held a meeting with Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD during his visit to Japan to exchange views on cooperation toward this year’s OECD Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM), which is to be chaired by Japan.
As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen the collaboration between Japan and the OECD in the fields of trade and digital, as well as in decarbonization.
Mr. Mathias Cormann was appointed as the Secretary-General of the OECD in June 2021. Prior to his appointment to the OECD, he served as the Australian Minister for finance and in other important posts.
