The 1st Meeting of the Japan-China Export Control Dialogue Held

On January 17, in Tokyo, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry held the 1st meeting of the Japan-China Export Control Dialogue with the Bureau of Industry, Security, Import and Export Control, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.

On January 17, in Tokyo, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry held the 1st meeting of the Japan-China Export Control Dialogue with the Bureau of Industry, Security, Import and Export Control, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Igari Katsuro, Director-General, Trade Control Department and Mr. JIANG Qian Liang, Director-General of Bureau of Industry, Security, Import and Export Control, Ministry of Commerce.

In the dialogue, the two sides discussed matters of interest regarding export controls for both countries.

Both countries will maintain close communication to deepen understanding of each other's export control systems, enhance transparency of export control measures, and ensure that normal trade is not impeded.

The establishment of the Japan-China Export Control Dialogue was agreed upon at the meeting held in November 2023 between the former METI Minister Nishimura and H.E. Mr. Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce of China.
