Minister Saito and State Minister Kozuki Hold Meeting with Mr. Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE)

On Monday, April 8, 2024, Minister Saito and State Minister Kozuki held a meeting in Tokyo with Secretary General Kerkentzes of the BIE.

Minister Saito expressed his gratitude for the support that the BIE has provided to date in holding Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. He also discussed the exhibitions by official participants and the efforts by the Government of Japan to raise momentum and requested continued support and advice from the BIE on preparations for the exposition.

Secretary General Kerkentzes stated that he sees signs that the stakeholders of the exposition are taking forward-looking actions as they face an important time one year before the exposition and that the BIE will strive to provide full support to Japan.

Minister Saito, State Minister Kozuki, and Secretary General Kerkentzes agreed to continue close cooperation on preparations toward the success of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
