Minister Saito Receives Courtesy Call from H.E. Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan

On Friday, May 17, 2024, Mr. Saito Ken, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan. Together they exchanged opinions on bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, they welcomed the progress of bilateral economic cooperation based on the Japan-India Special Strategic and Global Partnership, and exchanged views on further strengthening such cooperation and efforts agreed by Prime Minister Kishida and Prime Minister Modi two years ago to realize 5-trillion-yen of public and private investment and financing from Japan to India in five years.
In view of Japan and India’s respective presidencies last year of the G7 and G20, they confirmed that they would continue to lead discussions in the international community and agreed to further cooperate in international frameworks such as QUAD and IPEF.
