Minister Saito Holds Meeting with Mr. Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE)

Minister Saito stated that Japan intends to further raise nationwide momentum in preparation for opening Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. He also explained the efforts by the Government of Japan involving the exhibitions and operations by official participants and requested the BIE to continue to cooperate in preparation for the exposition.

Secretary General Kerkentzes expressed his appreciation for Japan’s various efforts and METI’s strong support that have been carried out since the meeting held in April 2024. He also stated that the BIE supports Japan’s efforts, mentioning that it has received positive feedback from participating countries about the progress made in the efforts for the exposition.

Minister Saito and Secretary General Kerkentzes agreed to continue to closely collaborate to advance preparation toward the success of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
