Minister Saito Receives Courtesy Call from Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum

On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Mr. Saito Ken, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, received a courtesy call from Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum. They exchanged views on a wide range of topics.
During the meeting, Professor Klaus Schwab told Minister Saito the main theme of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (Davos) due to take place next year. They also exchanged views on various issues including the importance of maintaining the rules-based international trade system and the roles of the World Economic Forum and the World Trade Organization (WTO) in ensuring this goal, the impacts that AI and other digital technologies will have on the world as well as the necessity of policy coordination between nations in these areas.
