Minister Saito Receives Courtesy Call from the Delegation of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party

On Tuesday, August 27, Mr. Saito Ken, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, received a courtesy call from the six members of the delegation led by U.S. Congressman John Moolenaar, Chairman of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. Through the discussion, they confirmed the importance of cooperation between Japan and the United States.
On Tuesday, August 27, Mr. Saito Ken, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, received a courtesy call from the Delegation of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. The U.S. delegation led by Congressman John Moolenaar (Republican–Michigan) comprises Congressman Ro Khanna (Democrat–California), Congressman Barry D. Loudermilk (Republican–Georgia), Congressman Brian Babin (Republican–Texas) and Congressman Tom Suozzi (Democrat–New York).
In the meeting, Minister Saito mentioned the strong bilateral economic relations through Japanese companies' direct investments and job creation in the United States. Then they exchanged views on topics such as supply chains, critical and emerging technologies and confirmed the importance of the close coordination between Japan and the United States given the present international situation.
