Minister Saito Holds Meeting with Mr. Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE)

In the meeting, Minister Saito expressed Japan's intention to further raise nationwide and global momentum leading up to the opening the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. He reaffirmed the importance of the operation of the event and its content and request the continued support from the BIE in preparation.

Secretary General Kerkentzes extended his appreciation for METI’s strong support and expressed his encouragement toward the momentum building efforts.

Minister Saito and Secretary General Kerkentzes confirmed that they will coordinate closely with stakeholders in order that construction work of the Integrated Resort in Osaka does not negatively impact the Expo. They also agreed to continue to closely collaborate in preparations for the success of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
