Prime Minister Ishiba and Minister Muto Receive the ABAC 2024 Report to APEC Economic Leaders

The Japanese members of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) visited Mr. Muto Yoji, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, and Mr. Ishiba Shigeru, Prime Minister, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and hand delivered to each of them the ABAC 2024 Report to APEC Economic Leaders. Japan will make further efforts regarding the issues highlighted in the report, together with other APEC members.
ABAC is APEC's official private-sector advisory entity, established in 1996. Representing business sectors in the Asia-Pacific region, it annually releases the ABAC Report to APEC Economic Leaders. ABAC members consist of representatives of the business sectors of the 21 APEC member economies and are appointed by respective leaders. From Japan, three members and two alternate members are appointed by the prime minister, and they have been making active contributions to ABAC activities.
In response to the preparation of ABAC’s 2024 Report to APEC Economic Leaders, the Japanese ABAC members visited Minister Muto and Prime Minister Ishiba, on October 30 and November 5, 2024, respectively, and hand delivered the ABAC 2024 Report to each of them.
