State Minister Koga Attends Japan-Ukraine Economic Joint Meeting

On Monday, December 16, Mr. Koga Yuichiro, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, attended the Ninth Japan-Ukraine Economic Joint Meeting co-hosted by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and delivered a guest speech.

The Japan-Ukraine Economic Joint Meeting is an event held by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and Keidanren to promote economic exchange between both countries. The ninth meeting was the first in-person meeting in five years. It was attended by Ms. Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and Mr. Kokubu Fumiya, the Chair of the Committee on Ukraine Economic Reconstruction, Keidanren.

State Minister Koga emphasized the importance of the government and the private sector working together in providing support for the reconstruction of Ukraine as a uniquely Japanese form of contribution. In addition, he presented examples of support provided by METI, including the opening of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Kyiv Office and efforts involving reconstruction projects in Ukraine.
