Minister Muto Holds Meeting with Ms. Yulia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine

On December 17, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Muto Yoji and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting in Tokyo, Japan, to discuss bilateral economic relations.
Minister Muto welcomed the visit of First Deputy Prime Minister Svyrydenko and the accompanying business mission to Japan and congratulated them on the success of the Japan-Ukraine Economic Joint Conference held the previous day with Keidanren (Japan Business Federation).
Minister Muto expressed gratitude for the cooperation towards the establishment of the JETRO Kyiv office, which was set up in October. The two ministers also aligned their views on future exchanges regarding JETRO's activities and support for businesses in both countries.
Additionally, the ministers exchanged views on future support for the economic recovery of Ukraine. Minister Muto provided a report on the ongoing Ukraine recovery support projects and explained the cooperation regarding new support for Ukraine's recovery through collaboration with local entities in Ukraine and countries in Central and Eastern Europe, which was welcomed by First Deputy Prime Minister Svyrydenko.
First Deputy Prime Minister Svyrydenko expressed gratitude for Japan's recovery support and contributions to security through humanitarian demining. She also noted that Japan is actively supporting Ukraine's economy through Japanese companies operating in Ukraine, creating jobs and fostering the growth of bilateral trade.
Finally, regarding the upcoming Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai to be held next year, Minister Muto expressed gratitude for Ukraine's participation. Svyrydenko stated that Ukraine's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai would further deepen cooperation at all levels. Both ministers agreed that this would be a great opportunity to strengthen ties not only in economic matters but also in cultural aspects, and they committed to working together towards a successful event.
