Japan Day Official Ceremony and Event to Be Held at Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan on July 3

Japan's National Day (Japan Day) will be held on Thursday, July 3, at the venue of Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan, which is currently underway. On the day, the Japan Day official ceremony and event will be held within the venue. Applications by general visitors for reservations and a lottery to attend the ceremony and event will start to be accepted from Tuesday, June 3.

National Days are held at world expositions to honor official participants and foster international understanding and friendship. 

At Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan, the National Day of Japan (Japan Day) will be held on Thursday, July 3, and the Government of Japan will host the Japan Day official ceremony and event.

The theme for the official ceremony and event is “LIFE WILL BLOOM.” It is in line with the Expo’s theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” and the fundamental power of life will be expressed on stage.

The stage program will feature collaborations between musicians of gagaku (Japanese imperial court music) and modern music performers, a fusion of Japanese manga and contemporary dancing, and other performances that will provide the audience with an opportunity to experience the tradition, innovation, diversity and creativity of Japanese culture. Moreover, the singer MISIA will appear on stage for a special live performance. Details of the program will be announced later.

For the official ceremony and event, applications for reservations and a lottery (seven-day advance lottery) will start to be accepted from Tuesday, June 3. For details of the application procedures, please refer to the following: 

  1. Register your Expo ID.
  2. Purchase an admission ticket for Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
  3. Make a reservation for your visit date and time.
    Please note that if you have made a reservation to visit the venue at noon or later, you will be unable to make an application for the reservation/lottery for the ceremony and related events. In order to make the application, please change your visit time to earlier than noon.
  4. On the seven-day advance lottery application screen, make an application for the lottery for the Japan Day official ceremony and event.

Profile of MISIA

MISIA made her debut in 1998 and is a nationally famous singer with many hit songs. She has been conducting social contribution activities, giving support to children in Japan and providing educational support for children in Africa. She has been appointed to various honorary positions in recognition of her contributions to society, including the honorary ambassador for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).
