Parliamentary Vice-Minister Takeuchi Visits Osaka Prefecture on Hungary’s National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai

On Saturday, May 24, Mr. Takeuchi Shinji, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, visited Osaka, where he attended Hungary’s national day event held at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai and also guided H.E. Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary and other visitors from the Hungarian government through the Fukushima Reconstruction Exhibition, which was held by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) at the Expo venue.
1. Participation in Hungary’s national day event
Parliamentary Vice-Minster Takeuchi attended Hungary’s national day event held at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. At the ceremony, he appeared on stage with President Sulyok and delivered a speech as a representative of the Government of Japan. The two also visited both the Japan Pavilion and the Hungary pavilion. At a banquet held afterward, they exchanged views on enhancing bilateral relations.


2. Guiding President Sulyok through the Fukushima Reconstruction Exhibition
Parliamentary Vice-Minister Takeuchi guided President Sulyok and other visitors from the Hungarian government through the Fukushima Reconstruction Exhibition, which was held by METI as part of the “A Better Reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake” exhibition jointly organized by the Reconstruction Agency and METI at the venue of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. President Sulyok, after listening to the explanations about the post-earthquake situations in Fukushima Prefecture and about the traditional events held in the Hamadori area, etc. in the Prefecture, enjoyed the experience of tasting sake and Joban-mono (seafood caught in the Joban Coast) from Fukushima.

3. Participation in the Fukushima Reconstruction Exhibition’s Closing Ceremony
Parliamentary Vice-Minister Takeuchi participated in the Fukushima Reconstruction Exhibition’s Closing Ceremony and received “START!! FROM FUKUSHIMA HAMADORI Activity Declarations” from companies participating in the Exhibition from Hamadori. In the declarations, they were committed to embracing challenges in Hamadori and implementing measures to increase the number of active population in Hamadori. In response, the Parliamentary Vice-Minister said that METI will push ahead with measures to bring this liveliness in Expo to Hamadori, including measures to increase the numbers of exchange population and related population in Hamadori, toward the earliest possible full reconstruction of the area.
