Japan Day Held at Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan

Japan’s National Day (Japan Day) was held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the currently ongoing Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan (Expo 2025). The captivating allure of Japan was showcased through each program.

The Japan Day official ceremony was carried out solemnly in the presence of Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince and Crown Princess Akishino. The official event showcased the culture of Japan and its captivating allure, featuring a gagaku (Japanese imperial court music) performance by the Music Department of the Board of the Ceremonies of the Imperial Household Agency, a special performance on the theme of life by Ms. Fujiwara Norika (Honorary Director of the Japanese Government Pavilion [Japan Pavilion]), a special live performance by MISIA, and more. Prior to the official ceremony, a dynamic calligraphy performance was presented by the winners of the National High School Calligraphy Performance Championship. A total of 1,500 people, including the people who were present at the public viewing at the EXPO National Day Hall Ray Garden, watched the ceremony and event at the expo site,
Furthermore, a parade was held at the expo site, adding excitement to the Japan Day celebration. Representatives of the All Japan Waso Consultants Association, Bringing Smiles to the World with Sweets Project, and ANIME x FOOD FES—THE ENNICHI, as well as Kumamon, Hello Kitty, Hikonyan, Mozuyan and other popular characters from across Japan, marched to the beat of the drums played by the Middle Army Band of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and enjoyed interacting with spectators along the way. A photo session was held in front of the Japan Pavilion, joined by Honorary Director Fujiwara Norika and MYAKU-MYAKU.

Official participants deepened their connection at the reception, where sake and delicacies produced in Fukushima Prefecture were served.

The unique appeal of Japan was shared across the entire expo site, making the day a special one.
