Minister Muto Visits Osaka Prefecture on China’s National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai

Mr. Muto Yoji, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, visited Osaka on Friday, July 11, to attend the People’s Republic of China’s national day event held at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. Also, with Mr. Moriyama Hiroshi, Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party, who chairs the Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ Union, the Minister met Mr. He Lifeng, Vice Premier of the State Council of China, who was visiting Japan.
1. Participation in China’s national day event
Minister Muto participated in China’s national day event held at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. During the ceremony, he appeared on stage with Vice Premier He Lifeng and made a speech as a representative of the Government of Japan. Minister Muto also attended the banquet held afterward.
2. Meeting with Vice Premier He Lifeng
Prior to the ceremony, Minister Muto, with Secretary-General Moriyama of the Liberal Democratic Party, who chairs the Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ Union, met Mr. He Lifeng, Vice Premier of the State Council of China, and exchanged views on the progress of Japan-China relations including economic areas. Minister Muto urged cooperation between the two countries toward the expansion of bilateral economic relations, including collaboration for the Japan-China Energy Conservation and Environment Forum, which will be held in Beijing within this year. The minister also referred to the improvement of the business environment.
