State Minister Ogushi Holds Meeting with H.E. Mr. Ronaldo Ramos Caiado, Governor of the State of Goias, Federative Republic of Brazil

On Monday, July 14, Mr. Ogushi Masaki, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Ronaldo Ramos Caiado, Governor of the State of Goias, the Federative Republic of Brazil. They discussed topics such as the activities of Japanese companies operating in the State of Goias and the strengthening economic relations between Japan and the state through public-private collaboration.
State Minister Ogushi stated that Brazil, with the world’s largest Nikkei (Japanese immigrants and descendants) communities, is an important partner that shares fundamental values with Japan. He expressed his expectation for the accelerating momentum of strengthening economic relations between Japan and the State of Goias, given the cooperative projects and expansion by Japanese companies in the state.
In response, Governor Caiado explained the contribution of Japan to the development of the Brazilian Cerrado and other areas, the current progress of renewable energy development in the state, potential for creating new industries, and the state government’s efforts in artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies. He also expressed his expectation for investment from Japan and for future collaboration with Japan.
