METI State Minister Ogushi Receives Recommendations Formulated by the Japan-EU Business Round Table

On Monday, July 14, 2025, Mr. Ogushi Masaki, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, received a courtesy call from Mr. Endo Nobuhiro, Japan-side co-chair of the Japan-EU Business Round Table. During the meeting, Mr. Endo hand-delivered the policy recommendations compiled by the EU and Japanese business communities.
The Japan-EU Business Round Table (hereafter, “BRT”), launched in 1999, brings together representatives of the business communities of Japan and the EU to compile policy recommendations.
As the 2024 BRT has completed its compiling of recommendations, Mr. Endo, BRT’s Japan-side co-chair, visited State Minister Ogushi and hand-delivered a document titled “Japan and the EU – Global Partnership in a Changing World”.
The document, which was formulated in line with this year’s BRT themes-economic security and industrial competitiveness-contained policy recommendations regarding common challenges facing the business communities of Japan and the EU, including topics related to trade relations, investment and regulatory cooperation, life sciences, digital, and the environment.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will continue to promote industrial cooperation between Japan and the EU in view of the recommendations.
